Return to Williamsburg

Participant rolling a hoopIf you enjoyed your experience with the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute and would like to return to share your enthusiasm, we encourage you to apply to be a peer facilitator or a curriculum writer.

Every summer, past participants may apply to return to Williamsburg to continue their Institute experience as either a peer facilitator or a curriculum writer. You have witnessed the excitement of facilitating during your week. Facilitators are provided an all-expense paid trip to assist new participants in this experience of a lifetime and to share successful teaching strategies in daily application sessions. Curriculum writers are also brought to Colonial Williamsburg during the summer (and other times throughout the year) to help in writing new lesson plans for upcoming Electronic Field Trips, Teacher Gazette issues, and an assorted number of other Colonial Williamsburg Education Outreach programs. The same application is used for both positions; it requires one original lesson plan that has been used successfully in the classroom.
