Making An Oral Presentation

Each group will make a presentation to the entire class in which they will provide information on the topic assigned to them. Main points should be summarized, comparisons clearly made and as much insight into the issues as possible presented. Charts, graphs, pictures and other visual resources are recommended to enhance and clarify the presentation.

GUIDELINES FOR AN ORAL PRESENTATION

  • Introduce the topic in such a way that it makes the listeners want to know more about it.
  • Present information clearly and concisely.
  • Provide supporting data for major ideas.
  • Use note cards.
  • Speak loudly and clearly.
  • Maintain eye contact with the audience.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm and interest in the topic.
  • Summarize the main points of the topic at the end of the presentation.
