Whether you want to compare tactics with historic military interpreters, check out our vast weapons on exhibit in the art museums, or retrace the nation’s beginnings with your family, we are proud to offer exceptional programs and exclusive military discounts.

  • Tickets & Passes

    Active-duty Military, Reservists, and National Guard Personnel:

    • Active-duty Military, Reservists, and National Guard Personnel receive complimentary admission once annually for themselves and up to three direct dependents. You may select from either Memorial Day weekend, Veterans Day weekend, or a single-day admission on the date of your choosing.
    • Active-duty Military, Reservists, and National Guard Personnel also qualify for the following discounts throughout the year:
      • 50% off the purchase of Single-day admission tickets for yourself and up to three direct dependents, or
      • 50% off the purchase of an Annual Passes for themselves and up to five direct dependents.
    • Proof of Service: Guests will be asked to present valid military ID for themselves and their direct dependents ages 10 and older to take advantage of these offers.

    Retired Military and Veterans:

    • Retired military and veterans receive complimentary admission once annually for themselves and up to three direct dependents on either Memorial Day weekend or Veterans Day weekend. Retired military and veterans also qualify for the following discounts throughout the year:
      • 50% off the purchase of Single-day admission tickets for yourself and up to three direct dependents, or
      • 50% off the purchase of an Annual Passes for yourself and up to three direct dependents.
    • Proof of Service: Guest will be asked to present valid proof of service including military ID, honorable discharge paperwork, DD Form 214, or a driver’s license with veteran designation.

    Special Military Discount Conditions:

    All dependent guests in the party must be present at time of purchase. Tickets must be purchased at a Colonial Williamsburg Ticket Office. Dependents are defined as spouses and children/individuals who are claimed as a dependent on military personnel US Federal Income Tax Return. Military discount cannot be combined with other Colonial Williamsburg ticketing offers. Discounted tickets are not available for other ticketing configurations such as Multiday, Historic Triangle, or BOUNCE tickets, or special programming, such as Cry Witch, Haunted Williamsburg, and Fire a Flintlock Musket.     Who qualifies for this program?

    The Honoring Service to America complimentary admission program permits any U.S. active-duty military, activated or reservist, or National Guard personnel to one complimentary admission per year.

    How many times can we visit using this program?

    This offer is valid for one visit per year for military personnel and as many as three direct dependents.

    Do civilians working for the Department of Defense qualify for this offer?

    No. Only U.S. active duty military qualify for complimentary admission.

    You offer a total of four free tickets. What if there are more people in my family?

    You may purchase additional single-day tickets for direct dependents at a 50% discount.

    My spouse is serving overseas. Can dependents visit without their service member?

    Yes, but this will use the service member's free tickets for the year.

    I am a single parent serving overseas. My children are living with a relative. How can my kids visit?

    The primary caregiver should visit the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center and they will make accommodations for minor dependents. Proof of military status and deployment is required.

    I am service member from an Allied country; does this program apply to me?

    No. This program only applies to members of the United States military.

    The Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg are proud to be a Blue Star Museum.

    Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across America.

    Through this program, active-duty military and their families can enjoy free admission to our two world-class art museums, Memorial Day through Labor Day.
